Fund Raising Ideas
1. Donate On-Line
The Washington County Community Foundation has provided a way for donors to give to our program
over the internet – at no cost to our program. Donors can go to www.WCCF.net and click on
“A local charity”. When they type in “Pennsylvania Elks Major Projects”, they can donate
on-line with a credit card. If they are an Elk and want the donation to be credited toward their Lodge,
they can type in their name and Lodge number under “Listing in Print and Media”.
On
September 10, 2014 from 8am to 8pm the Community Foundation will sponsor a Day of Giving. All donations
made that day on the website will be matched by corporations (last year it was 36%) and will mean an
increase in the amount we will receive for the donation.
2. Combined Federal Campaign
PA Elks Major Projects is registered with the Combined Federal Campaign. This means that any Federal civilian, postal and military employee can make donations to the Home Service Program through
their place of employment. The five digit code they will need to sue to designate a donation to our
program is 46302.
3. Matching Workplace Contributions
Some
workplaces today will match an employee’s contribution to charity. For example, Verizon will make
a contribution to a charity of the employee’s choice if the employee verifies volunteer hours
they have worked for a charity (like the Home Service Program). Ask your members to check to see if
any program like this exists where they work.
